New NVIDIA Update 4/22/2010

For those of you using NVIDIA graphics cards, but have your Windows Updates set to "never check for updates" there's a new download available as of 4/22/2010. So you might want to have Windows check for the update, and download it. Just a heads up guys.

I just installed the update for my NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT and it works great.

Yep. The latest driver package from NVIDIA. It was released on 4/22/2010 [Microsoft Update] but the driver date in Device Manager is 4/3/2010.

What's the driver number, cause I just checked and the one from last week is still the latest 197.45

I don't know why I just recieved it on 4/22/2010 if you got it last week? Odd.

Perhaps he got it directly from the NVidia website. That's the way I recommend to obtain all hardware updates, directly from the relevant manufacturers' websites.

Yep, That's where I got. Plus I subscribe to the nvidia driver thread here to stay on top of the info.

Well, I've never had a single problem updating my GFX card with Windows Updater. Besides, they give me the updates automatically, which is WAY better than having to constantly check NVIDIA's website. It's just a whole lot more convenient for me this way. Had I ever had a problem with Windows Update, I would go the other route for sure. But I haven't.....yet.

At any rate, this was just a heads up for those who have Windows Update set to never check. I'm not about to argue over the best way to recieve NVIDIA updates. To each their own.
