Does the screen resolution control panel show 1440x900? How is the monitor connected to the video card? DVI?

No, it does not. Both in the control panel and the graphics card controller i do not have my native resolution but other resolutions much higher than it like 1600x1200.
And also the monitor is connected by VGA. This happened when recently i took out my nVIDIA 9400gt and installed my integrated card back.

OK, so is the integrated video Intel? If so there's another way around it!

yeah, the integrated video card is Intel. Do u thin it will be solved if i completely reinstall vista, not that i want to do it but just asking.

If you're going to do that just upgrade to Windows 7 and that will fix it along with a simple registry tweak. Why not? I don't think you could find too many people around here that would tell you it was a mistake!

Honestly it's that or connect the display with DVI or HDMI. I'll even provide a direct download of the latest pre-RTM and help you with drivers. How much RAM do you have? 4GB or more and you'll want 64-bit unless you've got some hardware that you know doesn't work right in Vista 64.

Is it still installed? The latest drivers on Windows Update for Windows 7 build 7137 enabled widescreen resolutions over VGA for me. If for some reason that doesn't work for you I can force it using this information: Custom Resolutions on Intel Graphics - Intel® Software Network

To save some time just go here and get what you need. Run as administrator and use one of the "linux modelines" mentioned in the Intel article for 1440x900 @60Hz clever technologies - products - clever freeware - Home to DTDCalculator

Hi. I'm new here and this is my first post. I looked around a little and found one other thread with a similar question, but the question wasn't really answered. I can't find anything on the net that doesn't confuse me so bad it makes my head hurt, so I thought I'd try asking here. Thanks in...

Native resolution
I just recently bought a brand new computer which forced me to switch from Vista to 7. It wasn't a bad change, just a bit overwhelmed by how things are set up now. The most annoying change is 7 will only give me two options when it comes to screen resolution. 1024x768 and 800x600. Both of...

Native Resolution?
My Monitor is a Flatron W2042TQ that is around a 21" monitor that runs on a resolution of 1680 x 1050. My graphics card is not a gaming one - Geforce 9400GT and I want to play at a lower resolution like 1024 x 768 without sacrificing quality. Is it possible to play it with crisp images on my...

This problem has been going on the quite so time now. This is my 2nd monitor within the year (or so) that this has been going on and it's happened to both monitors. About a year ago (maybe a little less, I can't remember exactly), I saw a Windows Update for my Nvidia GeForce 9600GT drivers. Now up...
