I am able to duplicate my display but i am not able to extend it.

I am using win 7 starter version.

Try updating your video card drivers.

Try pressing Winkey + p to try that option. If that does not work, try as JK said above, update your drivers. Make sure to get the right W7 edition.

I have exactly the same problem and tried everything physicaly possible in updating to no avail..........!

Starter does not support multiple monitors.
