Okay, so I've taken the advice of skunksmash and I'm investing in a whole new system. Not a desktop, but a laptop.

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo P8600 (3MB cache/2.4GHz/1066Mhz FSB)
    3 GB DDR3 Ram
    350 Internal HDD 7200 RPM
    ATI Mobility RADEON® HD 3670 - 512MB

Is that graphics card pretty good?

Here is a review for your Card.

    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670

The AMD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 is a higher clocked HD 3650 with clock rates nearly as high as the old 2600 XT. Compared to it, the HD 3650 should be cooler (55nm process) and features DirectX 10.1 support.

The card should perform better than the old 8600M GT and therefore, old DirectX 9 games should be fully playable with mostly high details. Modern demanding games are only playable with modest details.

120 Stream processors (48 5-dimensional Shader units) manage the tasks of the Shader and Pixel pipelines.

Due to Avivo video engine the graphic card can support the processor with several HD video operations (MPEG-2, VC-1, H.264).

Compared to the desktop HD 3670, the Mobility HD 3670 has a slower clock rate and should perform more like a desktop HD 3650.

Thank you Mr.Grim! You are just everywhere helping everybody everywhere on this site, like the forum Superman...!

Well, I guess this external review I found listed on that site answers my questions:

"These cards should be able to display all current games with fluent framerates but not all with high detail settings. Especially demanding games like Crysis, Age of Conan, or Mass Effect are only playable with lower settings. Less demanding (and older) games, like Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, or Battlefield 2142 can be played with higher detail levels."

one other word of advice... double that ram if you can... you will see a decent improvement... guesstimate 25 to 40%... will almost be a new machine to you. Also nowadays that ram should be pretty cheap to find.
