    OK Mate!
Just go in your Catalyst Control Center (CCC) and edit your video settings, you'll find how to make it better in Win 7 against the pic in Windows Xp....:)

Oops... Sorry, i thought you've got an Ati card coupled with the Intel GMA 4500M

I can't really help you as my Intel GMA 4500MHD is backyarded with the ATI one when on battery powered.

Should you access directly from the control panel to the Intel GMA Tab?

    Few Options

I recently acquired a laptop with intel GMA 4500, while there are options for playing older lowerres games, intel GMA is not meant for hd 3d gaming. I feel your pain.

To amp the dedicated memory, open the power settings in the GMA settings panel. Intel GMA>Display Settings tab> Power Settings, on the right near the rotation options> move slider to NO Power Saving Settings

Additionally, open the 3d settings, at the bottom left of the intel panel,

    AS Flip leave off.
Tripple buffering turn off for more performance.
Depth color should be left at default.
    Leave both texture compressions off.
Driver memory footprint can be left at normal because it just affects how much RAM the GMA will take up.
Texture color depth should be self explainitory. leave it on desktop depth.
AF turn off for more performance.

#3 the GMA is not a graphics card, its a southbridge chip on the motherboard. It has no ram or GPU.
