Help!! Fonts look blurry on my new PC!
I'm so frustrated I'm about to go back to my old PC.
Operating System: Windows 7/64 Bit
Video Card Asus EAH4350
Lasted Drivers Installed
Monitor LG LCD 20" (2009 model)
Resolution: 1680x1050 @ 60Hz
My fonts are blurry, jagged and have a slight rainbow effect to them. Turning on Cleartype makes them twice as bad and every three or forth letter is bolded. Going to any other refresh rate, like 1280 x 1024 makes the fonts even WORSE and they become smudged.
I've tried everything and read everywhere and I can't find a solution.
Please help!
Thanks!
EDIT: Ok this is interesting. I went in to Performance Options:
1. Click the start button (Microsoft Logo bottom left of screen)
2. Type into the search box: appearance
3. Click on the link that appears near the top ---> Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows
Then I selected Adjust For Best Performance. Now my fonts look much better. My desktop theme has been wiped out but otherwise this is much better. I figured out that Use Visual Styles on Windows and Buttons is the culprit. Checking this just kills my fonts. Unfortunately unchecking it kills most of the desktop theme.
