    counter-strike still windowed

Hey I have tried everything for the last past day having windows 7 64bit installed. I read about 100 forums on how to change the refresh rate, but in my case my monitor(Viewsonic ultrabrite A90f+) is so old that it doesnt show up in phoenix to edit it. I am running it on a 8800 GTS 640mb vid card. I even tried running admin reforce 100hz for 640x480 still no luck. I am just about to go back to windows XP 32 because this is such a damn hassle(but I don't want to really) . Looked at every single tutorial related to this problem still nothing. Appreciate any comments on this problem just so I can be a step further.

Exactly same problem here, used Reforce with xp aswell. Tried several programs now which none of them work. Using Samtron 98pdf, used to playing with 1024x768 @ 100hz, can't get more than 85hz now.
