Install the Vista driver using the device manager and specifically pointing and double clicking on the .inf. If you want to know exactly how, search my AGP driver thread and install the same way as it says for that - the device manager step.

ATI Mobility Radeon X700 with the latest Catalyst

    Hi guys.

I've just been carefully reading this whole post.

    I'm running Windows 7 on a X700.

I started with Microsoft Update's driver for X700: really bad video playback ad heavy CPU load.

So, with the last Mobility Modder, I installed the latest Catalyst+Driver package from ATI.

Now I have driver 8.593.100 and Catalyst 9.11: really better, smoother video and less CPU load.

These are know ad the last versions compatible with my X700: is this true?

Is it possible and usefull to try to upgrade to the latest Catalyst build?

    Anybody tried this?

    Thanks a lot!

    Windows Ultimate x.64

Hi everyone! Finally I made my card working, thanks to all of you!)) I want people who face problems with initialization of ATI Mobility Radeon x700 by Windows 7 knew that different ATI packages work for different system configurations. I started from last two 11.6 and 10.2 versions... with no success! Only 9.11 installed properly and after two days of finding the ways - I'm really happy! I have Windows 7 Ultimate x.64. So the key is: use Mobility Modder.NET + proper ATI package version. Good luck!)))
