What driver is installed? go to device manager by typing that in search. go to the display tab and look to see that the driver is listed and does not have a yellow triangle on top.

Let us know if you need help

Checked Intel's site here Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family - Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset family support when I looked at the are my drivers current section it comes up with XP but there are some Vista driver for it at http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...Chipset+Family You might be able to use one of them in compatibility mode. If you get the chance would you be kind enough to fill in your specs, it will make it easier for folks to help you later, thanks.

Run GPU-Z (attached) and post the graphics card tab screenshot:

I suspect OP has less than 2 gigs of RAM in his system which will make 7 sluggish, also.

    BLOAT!

I have W7 running on two DELL XPS GEN1 laptops, both are closing in on being 6 y/o running W7 Professional 32 bit, they have Pentium4 3.4 GHz Extreme CPU's, 1 has an ATi 128Mb video card, 60GB HDD and 1.5Gb RAM and it runs 3 times faster then it ever ran in XP Pro SP3, the other has a 256Kb ATi, 160Gb HDD and 2Gb RAM and it has a WEI of 4.9 there are new PC's with better CPU's, more RAM and much better video that can't run that.

I have a friend with a brand new system, like the one in my specs, a 435T-9k, 4Gb RAM, 500Gb HDD, ATi 4350 with 512Mb and a i7 920 CPU and his WEI is 3.8. While 512 Mb may not have W7 run optimally it will run much better than XP did on the same PC, as noted from all the ones I have tested, I did test both with 512Mb and 1Mb just to see if they would run and they were slightly slower but not much, YMMV.
