Replacing 4670 for 5770

Just wondered if I need to uninstall drivers first or can I just connect it up and use the Catalyst drivers for my old card? Thanks guys also getting a Coolermaster Scout case and new PSU from Ebuyer, it seemed like a very good deal.

I've not had to uninstall my NVidia graphics drivers when I've swapped my cards over, providing that the driver also supports the replacement card. I would expect that the same could be said for ATI as well.

Yeah I figured it wouldn't be a problem after all they are both using Catalyst 10.6 drivers but when installing for my 4670 it checked what card I have, hmmm I think I'll uninstall ATI software then plugin my new card to be on the safe side.

You wouldn't have needed to worry. You could have installed the new drivers right over it. Windows has a LOT of drivers installed but it doesn't matter if there isn't any hardware to use it.

Yes but if there are old ATI drivers from my 4670 card wouldn't they conflict with the new card?
