    it's very simple xxxdannyxxx,

simply click on this link, and chose the relevant options for your system, which are:

notebook graphics, mobility radeon, 4xxx series and either windows 7 32 or 64 bit - i don't know which system you have.

(if you're unsure if you have 32 or 64bit, goto your control panel, >> system + security >> system. you'll see a line saying system type - it'll either say 32 or 64-bit operating system.)

then back on the drivers download page, press 'display results', scroll down the page, and click the first download button for the full system software suite.

once it's finished downloading, run the program, and follow the prompts.

let us know a) if you need more help or b) if it was a success.

    good luck! :)

you can install over the top if u like, it saves a bit of time. that's what i do.

however, if you run into any problems, or get any error messages, then uninstall the old one first.

the full ccc suite contains both the drivers and the ccc application itself. it's a bigger download, but it makes sense to update them both at the same time.

don't worry about sounding a bit thick, we've all got stuff to learn. :)

hmm that was unexpected, sorry about that, ok...

    let's try this site instead.

    choose notebook >> aspire >> 5935g

then just underneath, you'll see operating system.

choose win 7 home premium x64

scroll down to VGA ATI VGA driver, and download that one. it says it's a 2009 driver too, but it's the most recent one that acer have.

it may well be the same as the driver you've already got :), but it may be a bit newer.

at least we've both learned something.

    Thanx Mickey
Have downloaded that one but like you said i think its the same aswell october 09 was about when i got the laptop.Any reason for the other one not working? Is it best just to keep an eye out for updates on the acer site.Do you not think its odd that all those drivers havent been updated since oct o9 or is that normal. Also i have acer updater on this comp which has never updated anything yet will that catch the update when acer put it on their site.
    Thankyou for all your help

i really don't know why acer haven't updated their drivers.

i also don't know why the first link i gave you didn't work either. acer buy (some of) their chips from amd\ati, and ati are the ones responsible for making new drivers. they release a new one every single month.

i suppose acer's philosophy is 'if it ain't broke...'

you can visit the acer site from time to time, but the updater program should do it for you...
