the 460 will certainly be a big improvement over what you have at the moment.

it's a case of how much do you want to spend? the more you spend, the better the card. read the reviews, and make up your mind.

all the cards will be compatible with your machine, once you've upgraded the power supply unit.

the only extra thing if you go with the 460 is you will need to uninstall the ati drivers first, replace the card, then install nvidia drivers. not a complicated process - especially as you'll be having the hardware replaced by a shop. it shouldn't take more than an hour all done if the guy knows what he's doing.

*edit* the ocz psu you link above is a very good psu indeed and will last a good few years.

I don't really want to spend alot. the Computer itself is just over a year old. I think i would spend around £250 on a graphics card if it is a good one and then prehaps the cpu i posted above if you suggest it.

remember that you will also get charged to have the parts fitted.

the psu is very good, and is a steal for that price.

Yeh i had the fitting in mind. How much do you think an average computer shop will charge?

Well, I would think from 20 to 50 dollars or whatever is the currency you are using, more if theres more work to do, it's quite expensive atleast in my eyes, but that might be because I can do it myself.

Also ocz is good brand too, that psu is just fine.

GTX 460 will run every game, and smoothly depending of settings ofcourse, even my GTX 480 which is most powerful single gpu in the market, wont run metro 2033 maxed over 30 fps, but thats that and then there is other games.

But I'd say you can run high settings in most games, it depends alot on the game in question.

it shouldn't take more than an hour - 90 mins max i would say.

i don't know what 'the average shop' charges - i've never had to use one.

Well, the one in first link is reference card, which means it's not modified by zotac, and it's 1GB, the second card is 768mb but it has custom cooler atleast, but performs worse because of the memory bandwidth is 192 instead of 256, so get the on in first link, or any other 1GB version, they are the same pretty much, unless it's non-reference, like that synergy edition.

I think galaxy has the best performing non-reference card, if you can find that with decent price, go get it.

the cards are new, and not everywhere has them. neither of the cards you link is actually in stock, and won't be for a couple of weeks. and i've never heard of 'zotac'.

you really want one with 1 gb of memory if you want to play at high resolution.

i like to buy stuff from overclockers.co.uk - the prices are competitive, and service is good.

here's a good 460 card in stock for £190, and a good ocz psu special offer at £59

Zotac is fine brand actually I've got zotac gtx 480, too.

Sure evga is the best but they are overpriced around here.

edit: and that palit you linked is actually very good, non-reference too, which can be good thing, but also bad if you want to change cooler (which you shouldn't because that's sufficient).
Also doesn't look that expensive, but I don't know how much 1£ is in euros tho.
edit: ~230 euros, that's around 10 euros cheaper than here.
