Latest video driver (might be newer if you use your service tag number)?

Drivers and Downloads

Also as a just in case seeing as the Intel i5 CPU in it also has a video chip integrated into it, the latest Intel video driver,

Drivers and Downloads

Next question is it actually running on the ATI card or the Intel integrated? As I understand it the ATI card is only used when an application requires the extra power of it over the Intel (and no idea how to change it manually).

Before you install the new drivers please do the following:

1.) Download the newest versions of Catalyst Control Center and the Driver separately. They offer the complete package or downloading separately. Put them on your Desktop.

Don't use the Dell version - go directly to AMD Downloads.

2.) Uninstall Catalyst Control Manager through the Control Panel > Programs and Features

2.) Enter Device manager and Right-Click your current ATI driver. Select Uninstall and then reboot.

3.) Install the latest Driver.

4.) Install the latest Catalyst Control Center.

When using Dell to download Drivers and Updates always be sure to use your Service Tag. It helps to make an account with them just for this purpose.

Also double check that your BIOS and Monitor Driver is up to date and that you have the latest hardware drivers from Dell (except for the ATI driver since we are using the manufacture driver from AMD).

Please note that as Stormy mentioned earlier, running your monitor at higher rates then the standard will shorten the life of your screen and void potential warranty repairs.

Dell links can be funny that way. Anyway go here,

Dell - Drivers and Downloads

and use the service tag method instead of the model method, and it will bring up all the drivers for your laptops specific configuration.

Your welcome! After reviewing your computers model I honestly do not think you have the hardware capability to get the screen resolution you want. This has absolutely nothing to do with your graphics card but with the actual screen itself.

A good comparison would be the fact that my Dell has an Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 which can be overclocked BUT since it's an OEM machine, I do not have the capability to overclock it due to the OEM BIOS. Just because my chip can run faster does not mean I am able to alter it due to my machines limitations. This is the case with your screen and graphics card.

I'm really sorry that the AMD Driver did not help. Maybe someone else can offer you a suggestion but I am honestly unaware of a workaround for this specific situation.

One question though. How are you trying to change your screens resolution? Right-clicking the desktop or via Dell Quickset type Software?

Hi friend,
Thanks for the advices..

But I still think that its possibl to do that, once that my Inspiron 1525 ( older) has 1366x768 as Native as well, but when I switch to extended monitor , I can get more than 2000 , so why not this brand new Studio i7 ?
Something wrong...

If come up some idea , please let me know.. I left just TeamViewer there installed if you or anyone want to access there to help me ..

I promise a "wine" for who do that!
Thanks Guys!

I will Marcelo. As of now though I can not think of any other things to try. If something comes to mind I will be happy to let you know though and please let us know if you stumble across a solution too.

It also couldn't hurt to simply email Dell support and ask them...
