    Cannot detect second monitor GTX260

I just installed the RC and have been trying everything I can to get it to detect my second monitor. Both monitors are identical and worked in the pre RC version of W7 with absolutely no issues.

I used the Nvidia drivers from Windows update as well as the ones from the Nvidia site. Both will not show my second monitor.

If I switch the cables it works on the other monitor no problem.. It just will NOT detect it when they are both plugged in.

Have you right clicked on the desktop and went into the Nvidia control panel and ADDED the second monitor. you need to actually add it. the NV control panel will find it. or do you know how to do that because you did on the pre RC?

    Dual monitor problem

Did you ever resolve this problem. I have exactly the same problem. I have a dual boot system with Windows 7 professional and Windows Vista Ultimate. Both monitors work perfectly when I boot to Windows Vista but Windows will never recognize more than one of them at at time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Nick

    Monitor disappeared with GTX 265

I had the same problem when I installed Win7. I have an Acer x243w (primary) and a Viewsonic vx2025wm (secondary) and the vx2025 was not recognized by Win7. Opened NVIDIA Control Panel and tried to get it to detect the second monitor (several times) with no luck. I reinstalled everything (viewsonic drivers, Nvidia control-THEN Win7) to no avail.
I finally powered off my pc, disconnected the DVI cable to the vx2025, then the power cable...powered on my pc, only the x243w was still seen and powered off. Connected the DVI & power cables to the vx2025 and powered it on-then powered on the pc, went to the NVIDIA Control Panel and it detected it-FINALLY!
Yesterday, I tried opening Outlook 2007 and it said I needed to update Windows Connector-I declined and it wouldn't get any new email in Outlook. I closed it, and like a fool, I tried to do the upgrade. I rebooted and the mobo put the boot screen and data on the vx2025, as usual, but when Win7 booted the vx2025 disappeared! I then did a system restore from a few days ago and everything came back fine...ran virus, malware, etc. scans without any major issues. Ran registry cleaner and all is back to normal (whatever that means).
