    TV monitor

So i have never had this problem with vista, but now my fn +f8 only works half the time and i cant figure out why. Also Windows 7 wont recognize my LCD for a monitor so i cant "Detect" it or switch monitors/extend monitors that way. Im not sure what to do. I have it connected with hdmi cable
    any ideas?

    Hi and welcome to Sevenforums

You say that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't? Does your laptop have a GPU? or are you using integrated graphics?

That means that there is no graphics drivers installed for whatever card you're using, if you can tell me what it originally was, I can help you find drivers, hence why no aero. I had the same problem on an older sony notebook

If you have an 8400M GS in the system you'll need this one -> NVIDIA DRIVERS 186.03 WHQL

If that doesn't work i'll find a different one as you might have a different card
