    HP mv2120 Media Vault Help

I’ve installed a HP mv2120 Media Vault on my computer that’s running 6801. For the most part it seems to be working however:

·The Network LED on the server flickers some. I think it is supposed to remain a solid blue
·I am unable to turn on Network Discovery (running Kaspersky KIS 2009). Windows tells me it’s automatically activated for Private Networks, but the radio button is set to Turn Off Network Discovery
·I get a lot of communication errors from NTI Shadow: “Communication to the HP Media Vault has been lost. Your file/folder changes will not be backed up. Check the connections, make sure the HP Media Vault is on, and restart the backup job”. However, I can see and access the server from Explorer.
I think something is interfering with my ability to set the Turn On Network Discovery button. The User Manual specifically tells me to turn that on.

    Thoughts?

Try disabling Kaspersky and see if it makes a difference....

    Disabling KIS did not help.

Then perhaps that Vault has some sort of software on it that W7 is not recognizing....

Yeah, I've thought about that too. If that is indeed the case, the benefits of 6801 out weigh the disadvantages. I'll wait it out until I can get my hands on 6956 or the real thing.

    Thanks.

I'd do a lot more reading up on how those Vaults work - you might be able to find a solution yourself and post it here for other users to benefit from...

Or else get one of us to help - however, I don't have one, and I can do all the reading I want to but without hands on experience I can' test anything that I might think of....
