Since it is a netbook, chances are the mother board is capped at 2GB and the atom processor probably is too. If it is 7 starter, that is also capped at 2GB. Not to mention you only have one RAM slot and 4GB sticks cost about a third to half of what a netbook cost

yea, it was a windows 7 starter, then that trial ran out and i purchased windows 7 home premium 32bit online for it. but the way its running, the 4gb is nearly worth a try. the atom processor really hurts when run with only 1gb. i've gotten it decent for now by cleaning a bunch of stuff, defragging, and dedicating a 2gb flash drive with readyboost.

If you're limited to 2GB, that is the most you motherboard will be able to handle. I've never tried installing more than the maximum amount,s o I can't say what will happen. The computer might not boot at all. Buy the 2GB stick I linked you to before. I've done some looking and that is the cheapest compatible RAM I can find, and its from a trusted brand as well.

You can click on the red triangle and write solved, and the mods will mark it.
