Unfortunately I spent about 3 days trying to get the button to work, ended up just making a shortcut on the desktop for easy access as none of the available drives or software work on Windows 7. It seems some may do with the original or certain motherboards, others just don't register it at all.

The button directly on the DVD drive is fine. But the case has two smaller buttons on it which are connected via USB header, and they should tell the drives to open or close. It seems on some motherboards (i.e. if you used the case for a custom computer as I had) you can't use them buttons. So other software methods or awkwardly opening the bay cover and pressing the drive button was the only options for me.

go to this link to make a desktop shortcut to eject the drive create-a-shortcut-or-hotkey-to-eject-the-cd/dvd-drive(credit to "how to geek")

have you tried this gateway photo frame software which is also for the packard bell and it has the driver for the disc player in it https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l48...it?usp=sharing

I had already made a shortcut, and yes - I had installed around 3 versions of that software, none of which helped.
