Firewire Hard Drive

I have a Firewire drive plugged into a firewire port via a PCMI card why doesn't Win 7 let me see the drive? In device manger it shows the device but will not let me see it in my computer/explore or even mount it?

Sounds like a clear driver problem. Get the latest driver from the manufacturer *or* see in Windows Update has a solution.

If possible, provide a link to the product page from that site. Possibly listed here?

PCMCIA card?

Are the drivers for the *card* working correctly?

You shouldn't need drivers for a 1384 device - BUT, you may need to update your Firewire device drivers themselves as the actual controller may not be listed on the W7-QVL.

Check your 'Device Manager' and look for any oddities in the form of question marks, exclamation marks, etc.

Yup - that is what I was thinking....

I I am correct and this is a PCI / PCMCIA card, then it is not a part of the normal motherboard of the machine- thus it would quite probably have proprietary drivers, and would need to be installed to function correctly in Windows 7....

All drivers are up to date according to device manger. No warning or red tringle on any device.

The device is OHCI compliant Controller
