Is It possible to turn the computers power on wirelessly

I don't know whether this would matter If I'm asking this question In a windows 7 forum \ Linux forum whatever but I am running 7.

Say If I open up my desktop computer and do something\add something to the wireing of the power button , would I then be able to turn my computer with A wireless controller or even from my portable laptop that I use by clicking an aplication on my desktop that will then turn on my desktops power.

Is anything or has anyone ever made this possible?

Power led won't turn on
Hi, This is a non-urgent question. It's just a power led not lighting up. It's a friend's PC. He told me it used to power up when the PC was new, but after he took it to a service tech it didn't turn on when it came back, neither did the HD led. Well the HD led did turn on, it was just that...
