good and trustworty website to download drivers

Does anybody know a good and trustworthy website to download the latest drivers of a device (other than the manufacturer's website). The driver of the device i'm looking for isn't on the manufacturer's website and Windows Update sometimes doesn't update all the hardware to the latest.

softpedia.com often has device drivers. When you say it's not on the manufacturers website, do you mean Acer's website, or the device manufacturers website? For example, if you are looking for your Radeon video card driver, Acer may not have the newest version available, or might not have 7 version at all. But ATI's website will have it, if it exist.

Both, i need the lastest drivers for my Realtek RTL8190 wireless N network card because it's not performing as well as i thought (150 mps) where as my sister's acer laptop has a connection speed of 300 mbps. Either the driver is bad or a bad PCI slot.

    And dam, can't find RTL8190 on softpedia.com

Are you sure she had the same card? Some OEMs have a variety of wireless cards that their computers can come with.

She has a different wireless card (she's on a laptop), but both r wireless N compatible but her connection speed is at least 2x of my. Does distance affect the speed of the connection? Because she's right beside the router and my pc is 1 room away from her.

Yeah, distance definitely effects it. And different cards will pick up a signal better than others. Usually, the more expensive the card, the farther away it will work from.

It looks like E just contains the driver. U has a the utility software and the driver. Go into device manager and look at the driver info for your network card. If the date is from November, I wouldn't bother downloading either.
