I have a Crucial C300 (128GB) and can tell you performance is incredible. It's SATA III tho so you need the ports on your board or a card to get full speed. Check out my latest benchmark: https://www.sevenforums.com/881980-post642.html
Cheers tw33k , I did a seach for your SSD and its about the same price as the OCZ vertex 2 for the 64gb version.

The question is , which is better? The 60gb OCZ or the 64gb Crucial.

    Dam lol.

tw33k, do you think Sata3 is faster than having it on the normal I/O bus? Supposedly they are the same speed.

Interesting , many thanks for the link.

One thing I have noticed is the read and write speeds between the 2 ,

    The OCZ is 285 read/ 275 write

The crucial is 355 read/ only 70 write

How does this translate , I am guessing the read speed is by far the most important factor and based on this then the crucial is far superior , however I am surprised at how low the write speed is in comparison to the OCZ.

    Cheers

I haven't tested it myself but on the Crucial forums people have posted benchmarks of both and SATA 3 is faster all round

I assume it wasn't easy due to the fact you had a pair?

    1 should be straight forward.
It took a while to get them working in RAID 0 without needing 20 seconds to POST, but even a single SSD is a great improvement over a mechanical drive.

Go with the OCZ, the slower write times on the crucial mean it will take longer to install programs and save files

Where did you get 70 from? Is that 4K write speed because no way does the OCZ hit 275 for 4K writes. You can see from my test that the Crucial has very decent write speeds

I will be honest , I don't really have a clue regarding all these read/write speeds at different levels , I have only just scratched the surface of SSD's

All I have gone on is the info on the websites I have visited for the 2 drives , here's the links -

Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - Aria Technology

    OCZ 60GB Vertex 2E SSD 2.5" SATA-II Read 285MB/s.. | Ebuyer.com
