Issue with Keyboard/Mouse recognition...

Okay, so I could on and on about this issue and I did. I wrote something out that was hilarious and passionate about how my dang PC is screwing with my mind, but I need to get an answer!

ISSUE:

Windows 7 kills the use of my keyboard and mouse as soon as I get past the sign-in screen. (Note: Up to loading of windows 7, before and at the sign-in screen, I can use the mouse and keyboard.) It tells me, in all of its wisdom, that the device drivers were not installed correctly... I have tried two different keyboards and mouses.

Please, for the love of god. What do I do?

Okay, found out what the program might be. Logitech Keyboard and Mouse. I still have the issue though.

After a couple of times restarting the system, it gives me a start-up assist. The PC tries to find out what the issue is and resolves it. It doesn't though. Even though I am given a few seconds longer, it isn't enough time for me to try and system restore before cutting my connection to the computer. Right after that, I try to input another keyboard. They all do not work.

Welcome to Seven Forums usmakaan. Is this a new issue? Was it working before, and recently the problem started? You mentioned Systen Restore, if you are trying to restore to before this happened, you should be able to do a system restore from safe mode.

Have you tried the latest drivers from Logitech?

Allot of compatibility problems arose during the Windows 7 release and I still see companies selling devices today that are incompatible with Win7. These are usually the sale items we all bought during these bad economic times.

Microsoft has made a better effort in supporting hardware as WinXP rarely ever found a driver for me automatically let alone troubleshooting itself to good health. Hence the popularity of this forum.

Make sure they are Win7 drivers or install Vista drivers in Vista SP2 compatibility mode.

Also consider a cheap $10 serial mouse and keyboard for troubleshooting and backup. Wireless devices require more driver support.
