    GPU: GM45
    Technology: 65 nm
    Memory Type: DDR2
    Memory Size: 32MB (LOL)

    Motherboard:

    Dell 0k138p
    Chipset: Intel GM45/GM47 Rev.7
    Southbridge: Intel 82801IM (ICH9-M)

Your computer will not support an i3. You would need to get a new motherboard with new RAM therefore, this isn't going to work. Additionally, is this a laptop? If so, then you wouldn't be able to upgrade this as laptops are very constricted in what you can put in. For the most part, the only thing you can upgrade is the RAM (to add more) and sometimes the hard drive but that's about it.

That's sad what aspect of the motherboard makes it incompatible?

And yes you are right this is a laptop but I can guarantee I can replace it myself

The socket P your motherboard uses would not work as the Arrandale CPUs (Core i3, i5, and i7 Mobile) use the µPGA-989 socket for the CPU.

woah thanks! btw is that the only incompatibility? i heard from a thhread here that i need a DDR3 RAM aswell! is that right in my case? Also, does the Core i3 provide much better than my current graphics chip?

It would technically be better graphics but not all that much better. In regard to DDR3, that is also a problem because i3s require it and since your motherboard only does DDR2, that would definitely be another limitation.
