Sansa Clip+ - Not showing full capacity

    Hello...
    I've just brought Sansa Clip+ 2GB MP3 Player...
I've plugged the usb cable into my computer and I've noticed It isn't showing me the full size...

I've got only 1.60GB Free from 1.80, I did a format from the mp3 itself and from the computer...

    Picture: http://i52.tinypic.com/2ivl5d1.jpg

There isn't any hidden files or system protected files...

    How can I solve this?

The space has probably been taken up by firmware. The MP3 Player will need this to run.

Formatting wont get rid of it as it will most probably be locked by manufacturer.

Whatever you do, do not delete that firmware as you will only end up having a fqancy looking USB stick.

Looks normal to me. A 2GB device does contain 2GB of total storage. However, because of marketing, this is decimal and is actually 2*10^9, or 2,000,000,000. Dividing this by 1,024 three times yields 1.86, which matches the figure shown in your image. The amount of space used by the firmware, 211MB, seems about right.

This is what mine shows (it is a Sansa Fuze 4GB).

I've got the latest firmware installed (last checked, about a month ago) I also formatted the device through the device menu and not through Windows.
