If you will be using multi threaded apps, the i7 720 QM would be the choice. have a look at some benchmark comparisons:

The i7 will perform better in video/image editing, and multi thread apps. Its cache is 6 MB
and its turbo boost is higher than the i5. Between the 2, and the info you provided, go for the i7. A Guy

Yes, all the i series CPUs are good. Obviously some better than others, hence your question. But between your 2 choices and criteria, I'd say it is the best choice. A Guy
