    Intel i5 760 @ 2.8 Ghz Max Turbo Boost Technology

    Q1. What is the MAXIMUM Turbo Boost technology for i5 760 2.8 Ghz without overclocking the CPU? below are my hardware specs.

    Q2. Example: An application needs 3 Ghz clockspeed to run smoothly.

    Will i5 760 @ 2.8 Ghz convert to 3 Ghz?

    Specs:

    i5 760 2.80 Ghz
    Mobo = DH55PJ
    4 gig corsair ddr3
    GTS250 1 Gig ddr3 256 bit
    2 TB Hard Disc.

    I need a good simple answer Q1 and Q2.

    Tnx!

    Max Turbo Frequency 3.46 GHz

    The CPU automatically steps the multiplier based on load and number of cores used:

    Up to 1 core used at 3.46 GHz. On CPU extensive apps, expect to get the 2.93GHz speed, as all 4 cores will be used. This is of course at the stock 133MHz BCLK.

    Actually the application i needed uses only 2cores and @3+ Ghz.. So this mean my i5 760 @2.8 Ghz will automatically converted to 3.33 Ghz without overclocking the CPU.

    If the application does indeed only use 2 cores, then yes. I don't know whether it will actually only use 2 cores, or it says it needs at least a dual core CPU @ 3GHz?

    @ A Guy, i dont know what exactly the maximum clockspeed needed on the application but I've read that the recommended good performance is 3 Ghz and uses 2 cores... The higher clockspeed the better.

    On your table 2 Cores is 3.33 Ghz which is very good for me that exceeded the recommended clockspeed.

    Tnx again.
