    Region A

I'm familiar with the numerical designations for CD/DVDs, but one that I'm now looking at is labeled as region A (US, CA). Would there be any compatibility issue with playing it in a region 1 setting?

Region 1 stands for US, Canada, Bermuda and US territories. The codes A, B and C are used by Blu-ray disks and region A disks can be played in North America, Central America, South America, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. So you should be fine.

Thanks, I didn't know that Blu Ray had it's own region codes...seems extraneous to me.
