is it really f*$kin' necessary to have an 8 cored processor, that will undoubtedly cost an excess of $5000?

I think Intel's getting a little too far ahead of itself.
Quad core support is still in its early infancy, software-wise.
I'm still waiting to see significant gains for tri/quad CPUs...

But then again, this is a server chip so I doubt I'll be paying much attention.
