    Task Manager Wrong?

I've tried googling this but haven't seen anything like it. Sorry if this has already been addressed.

    BIOS reports 4GB of memory

System info reports 4GB of memory

Task Manager reports 2GB of memory

BOOT Advance Options (under msconfig) does not have max memory check box checked

    Any ideas?

Down load and check Ram on Process explorer, If that shows the correct total, you are OK.

If process explorer shows the correct amount of RAM, Task Manager may be corrupt.
    Try an SFC scan
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Although written for XP here is an excellent explanation of RAM usage
