    maybe this has something to do with it? says channel # for my ram is single

    i have duel channel single channel ddr3 seems wrong to me try this software please by passmark its called rammon PassMark RAMMon - Identify RAM type, speed & memory timings
    its very detailed

    have you tried putting the sticks in side by side i mean in the pic you posted the four slots you have the ram not put in side by side do you see what i mean?

    i have not tried that, but the mobo manual says for dual channel operation to install them the way i have them.. let me double check that

    i think it is right the way you have the ram in it just turns it to single with 4096 MBytes capacity windows is useing 2GB but where? or by having that set up windows cant use full capacity see what i mean

    i dont see why that would be, im not a board engineer.. but that doesn't seem like it makes sense - ill check at the asus forums... traffic is slow over there
