let me try that, i think it has something to do with the fact that its recognizing it as single channel - why would that be

edit: and i never got the chance to boot with only 2 gigs in one slot.. i fell asleep - been tired this week

today im going to try to update the bios after work. will also try booting with one stick and see what happens.

is it possible my cpu socket is damaged?
