Personally I'd rather leave it alone. You're not really gaining anything by changing it....

    Hey Brink. Very nice tutorial.

When I open up Ms config and select advanced boot. The default ram is 0. Is this normal or am I miss reading something?

    Thanks Simon
    Hello Simon,

Yes, that's the default setting as WHS posted above. When the Maximum Memory "box" is unchecked, then Windows 7 will use all available installed RAM by default. It's only when you check this box and select how many GB of RAM you want Windows 7 to use instead of the default. :)

i noticed that in my computer > properties that windows 7 says:

    installed memory 4GB (2GB usable)

    why is that?

i have a 1156 socket i7800 series, and currently have 2 2gb sticks installed, waiting on my other 2 to RMA
hit windows key and r on keyboard and type resmon and press enter you can see your memory

Letting Windows 7 take care of the memory all by its self has always worked for me.
