win7 64bit only recognizing 6gig of my 8gig of ram

    ok are your two sticks the same and how many? quote from your specs > *Memory 8GB 4x2 A-Data 1333 Mhz* is this your board

    so you have 4 sticks in the board memory holders?

    i use this to check the modules pasmark program

    just two at the moment, in the correct channels per the mobo book for 2 dimms in dual channel operation

    the other set had a bad stick, so i sent it back for replacements


    edit: whats odd is that it says it has 4gb installed, but only 2gb useable... even in the resmon it says "installed 4096mb"

    How could it be bios settings if windows "sees" 4gb but says only 2 are useable?

    What sort of setting would I be looking for? I've combed through the bios a few times, didn't see anything about disabling or enabling ram...?
