Windows 7: Sidewinder keyboard and mouse types on their own.

Sidewinder keyboard and mouse types on their own.

Hi, I have quite an annoying problem with my keyboard AND my mouse, Sidewinder x6, x8. Basically, I first noticed it was happening while playing a game. The character started randomly shooting and moving on their own. You couldn't shoot with the keyboard nor move with the mouse so that's how I figured both are the problem. It has started to get worse now, and happens not just in the game. If I right click something the keyboard presses the delete button on its own and I get a confirm delete window although I did nothing. Also, I have noticed windows close on their own and drop down boxes change selections also on their own.

Now I have found in text windows for instance when I rename an icon, the name is always replaced with the letters "d" and about 2 seconds later "r". Then I can type and those letters get retyped again in about 10 seconds.

I figured it had to be a driver problem with the not so enjoyable intellitype and intellipoint software so I have uninstalled them both and I am just testing to see if the problem is still present. But this also removes my Macros which I use, so this isn't a solution.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Microsoft says it's compatible with 32- or 64-bit OS, and doesn't need extra software.
