Also, there should be a setting in the BIOS for how much Ram you want to use for the graphics chip you can test by setting it lower from 512 to 256? If you can find the setting.

Also if you do have an actual Dedicated Graphics Card, you can disable the integrated graphics: How to Disable an Onboard Graphics Card in BIOS | eHow.com

Edit: didn't see Brianzon's post, before posting this, but I think we are all in the same boat here. I think its your integrated graphics taking up that ram...

My windows 7 64bit PC which I have recently built says that there is 4gb of RAM on my system (which there is) but only 3.5gb of which is usable. I have an 880GMA-UD2H giga-byte motherboard. When I enter the BIOS I can't seem to see a memory remap option, although maybe I've just missed it. Suggestions?
    This is normal.

See this - Just 2GB of ram - Vista Forums

and this - Wheres my memory gone? - Page 2 - Vista Forums

You might also check this out, especially page 2 - http://www.corsair.com/_appnotes/AN8...e_Analysis.pdf. It does a great job of explaining the 4gig limit on a 32-bit system.

    My two cents

Can you run your WEI assessment? When done, click on View and print detailed performance and system information. Scroll down to the section headed Graphics. This is what mine shows. What does yours show for this section?

Systems using on-board graphics will have an entry in Dedicated system memory, whereas those using a card (like mine) will have an entry in Dedicated graphics memory.

I have a seperate graphics card but I reckon it's not being used/detected. Again, I can't find AGP aperture settings in the BIOS so I can't change that.

Is the BIOS up to date? have you ever flashed the BIOS?

You can get two different programs that can help us see if you need to do so:

CPU-Z post a screenshot of the Motherboard/Mainboard Tab
CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

GPU-Z post a screenshot of the main screen.
GPU-Z Video card GPU Information Utility

Also, Speccy is a great tool for seeing all of your system information in one place, but the first two are excellent for in-depth information. here is link to Speccy: Speccy - System Information - Free Download

Here you go. From pg 39 of the motherboard manual.

    Full RAM Potential-capture.png

The option you are looking for is Internal Graphics Mode. If you are using a card, and not the on-board graphics, set this option to Disabled. The VGA aperture setting is referred to here as UMA Frame Buffer Size and, as you can see, there is an entry of 512MB which I have highlighted. This ties in with the amount of memory that you show as being hardware reserved.

By the way, 1394 refers to FireWire.

Do you have the monitor connected to the socket on the card or that on the rear of the motherboard? Depending on the card you have installed, have you connected the supplementary power connection(s) to it?
