I still use floppies (5.25 and 3.5) because I have a collection of vintage computers and a few of them are floppy only, no HDD, no CDROM and no USB support. I also have a USB floppy drive that I use on my "modern" machines which allows me to download software from the web and have a way to copy it to my old machines.

    This is awesome..
can you upload some pics of those machines love to see them..
Here's a few of my "floppy only" machines:

    IBM PC 5150

    Floppy, Floppy, Floppy, Floppy,????

    Oh yea, now I remember!

Had one back in the 20th century.

Don't remember what ever happened to it.

I do remember punching a hole on the SS 720K to use them as DS 1.44 Mb. You know, student on a low budget.

I own at least one of each of the machines I posted a picture of. The pictures aren't of my actual machines though, just photos I grabbed off the web.

The IBM machines and the Compaq are all 8088 CPU based, the Tandy is Z80 based.

Doc - That's not my entire collection, just the ones that are "floppy only".

I don't own any machines that use the 8" floppies but one of my earliest tech jobs was to test and do head alignment on Shugart SA800 8" floppy drives.
