    Purchasing tv tuner card

I am not totally computer savvy. I want to record daytime tv shows to watch on my computer and believe I want to purchase a TV tuner. I have a Gateway PC Model SX2800 which, I believe, has an PCI Express slot. I don't need HD-are there inexpensive ones available to purchase-if so, where?

Is the right category on this forum to ask this question?

    I appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,
    Karen

why not get an external USB TV tuner? i checked out a review of your computer and it is very difficult to upgrade.

That box has Available: 1 - PCI-E x16, 1 - PCI-E x1. We can assume the x16 slot is used for your video card, so if you have nothing else installed then you could install an internal TV tuner there.

I like Hauppauge Tuners. They are very reliable. Hauppauge Computer Works

Their software is very pedestrian. I use SageTV, which runs very well with Hauppauge products.

My daughter has the external tuner that she uses on her laptop. No problems, works great.

I've got 2 internal tuners in an old PC. One I bought one new, the other from Ebay. Both work great.

PS: I don't work for Hauppauge.
