    Ghost Drive

    Hello

My PC came with a 1.5tb HDD with win 7 installed, i now have the OS and software just as i want it but i am looking to use a smaller drive for the OS and use the current drive as a data storage drive.

My question is can i ghost this setup to another drive and use that as my primary or will i have to start from scratch.

I realise i have the option of partitioning my current drive but dont want to go down that route.

    Cheers

I might be wrong, but I think you have to start from scratch.

If you're talking about Norton/Symantec Ghost, it's been a while since I used it, but from what I recall, you could not "ghost" to a smaller drive.

However, if you go into Disk Management and shrink your Win7 OS partition, then you might be able to end up with a small enough partition that you could "ghost" it to a smaller drive.
