    windows 7 not recognising keyboard

As.hi to all I purchase a asrock ion 330ht with windows 7 and It did not come with keyboard and mouse.

I am trying to use my remote keyboard which I use to use for my vaio xp media edition. When I plug the ir receiver in USB port it says installing driver and successfully installed but when I try to use keyboard there's no movement but the mce remote works. The keyboard model is vgp-wkb4gb.

Please any help would be much appreciated, I searched everywhere and Microsoft state in their website it's a plug and play. I noticed a connect button at the back of keyboard played around but no luck.

    Thank you

The connection between the Keyboard and receiver must be timed correctly..Read up on the make and model,,Or read the manual on sync between the two..

Is this a keyboard that does not have batteries but charges via a USB connect? If so does it need charging? Is there a connect button on the wireless base? If so you need to press that then press the button under the keyboard!

No it takes battery on the back and there is no connect button on the receiver only on keyboard. the keyboard flashes for few seconds when connecting but fails. been to the Sony site but there's no support for it.

Well I've done quite an extensive search but cannot find any drivers for this mobel of keyboard. I just find others who have the same problem but no solutions. If the keyboard is a few years old it may well be that it is not compatible ith Windows 7!
Does the keyboard still work in the old PC?

Everything works with xp on my old pc it's 2yrs old. Microsoft says all remote keyboards work on win7 from xp media edition. if I was to get a spare receiver from my brother will it work? Anyways thank you for your help I was very comfortable using the keyboard as it had a built in mouse!

It seems a bit bold of Microsoft to say that all remote keyboards will work on Win 7 but that said, you could try a spare reciever but as your one works in XP there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with it. The spare will have to be the same as the one you have, of course!
