Does your bios see the drive?

Boot into the bios and see what it shows.

You no doubt already have, but as a last resort, once again check all cables and make sure they are connected firmly. Maybe try unseating and then seating again.

yes sir, 3 different cables and sitting in all the proper styles. I will try 1 last time but it may take like 4 days as I am heading out. I'd like to thank you all for the helpful tips and your time.

cheers, might make a good gridiron ball perhaps?

Lol you know what? it might very well be the cables, although its just a guess. I have a brand new power supply cable atatchment, so while the sata works, this particular one might not. I will have to try this out. it brand new though, dang people ripping me off left n right

Contact WD. They can determine by the serial# if it's in warranty.

Thanks, sorry bout the late reply but I did visit WD's website and just with the hard drive's serial number I was able to return it and got a replacement free of charge (other than shipping). So now the new one works great. I'm sticking to SSDs from now on Just need a better job lol
