another question. My first install was of Win 7 Home Premium. After I found it would not see both my processors, I upgraded to Professional. I am assuming the sequence will be the same, install from disk, but while configuring, again download the upgrade.

    Karl,
this thing is still copying files. I suggest I sign off for the night, then do the prep work on the clean install in the morning before you show up (when is that, usually?)
I will try not to do anything destructive until I hear from you again.

sure wish this screen had some kind of progress bar, just to reassure me that something is happening. at about the 3 1/2 hour point now.
First question will be, when I reach the step of formatting the drive, what is best. I don't understand the differences in options, such as you pointed out earlier, "dynamic" drive.

Clean All can take a long time. You should the disk activity light blinking.

When the clean finally completes, and it will, let me know and we will go thru converting your dynamic drive to basic. In the meantime, see following for info on basic and dynamic disks

No, what happens if I stop it? This case, arrangement does not have drive activity light. I feel of it & it feels like it is busy.
