Pusspa, how much is power brick ?
I just replaced my old (dead) one for a generic one off eBay for $25AU
Okay, because it doesn't have other solutions to fix the problem, probably or 95 % must buy new power brick. I tried very solutions but that is not helpful to fix the problem :S
The point in the reading the article I pointed to in my earlier post was that this sort of situation has been reported on and investigated by Microsoft and they have given an explanation of why the problem occurs. They have also explained why the symptoms were not seen using XP...its well worth the read. The upshot is , that if your system is reporting that you should consider replacing your battery, you would be advised to take the advice. Sorry for the bad news , but thats the advice....
Can't you take a simple voltage meter, cost around € 7,-, and check if and how much Volt there is at either end.?
Go to device manager and expand batteries. Right click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and uninstall it. Then reboot your laptop(it will automatically reinstall the driver) and hopefully it will say it is charging.
