    So I just miss-clicked "Delete Volume" in Disk Management


    Hello,

    I was just checking my new disk in Disk Management, and I was about to extend the volume I already had, when I miss clicked and deleted the whole volume. After some research it seems that I can recover it, because the data isn't lost yet, but I didn't find any solutions for win7 yet.

    I looked for Dskprobe.exe but it seems to not work in win7.

    In the attachment you can see that I have three disks made into C: and X: I have already gotten that far in my reconstruction (as I read in the link)

    But I don't know what to do know, can someone please help me? I kinda lost gigs of work and almost a TB of media

    If you need more information, I'll be here updating this thread every minute :)

    Maybe this one should have gone in the Software forum, please move it if so.

    I am now using EASEUS Recovery Wizard Pro to get my files back, and transfer them to another disk. It takes ten hours to recover the files, plus the time it takes to copy the files. It does not look like there's an easier way to do this. If nobody has any solutions?

    Did you try running the dskprobe.exe in compatibility mode for XP?

    In any case, you can extract the dskprobe.exe file from the download using 7zip. See this article.

    Very clever, I did that, but I still can't quite figure out how I an suppose to "recover the backup boot sector for the NTFS volume from the end of the volume"

    Working with disk sectors is a new area for me.

    When using Disk Probe this way, I can't select any physical drives. No luck trying with the logical drives either. The recovery of my files is now two hours from finished.

    Would anybody have any good ideas for a software-raid other than using dynamic drives in Windows 7?
