Do you have any onboard video card?
    What mobo do you have?
Enable memory remap in your BIOS if it is listed

It tells me that I only have 4 GB of RAM installed however it says total physical is 4gb then it says available physical 2.27 GB. Total virtual 7.98 GB, Available virtual 5.91 GB and thats from the System Information.

No onboard video card and my motherboard is the ASUS P6X58D-E

And yeah the box is unchecked.

Your resource monitor lists only 4GB as 'installed memory'
    The other 2GB is unusable
Test your RAM, one module might be malfunctioning, re-plug the module and do the memtest test

If you pass the ram test, take a known good stick and check each slot.
