As I said , it's a plug and play , no drivers required , I'll try disabling and uninstalling the non-pnp and restart

That's the purpose of the repair reinstall. And I can vouce for it from personal experience

However I would do a backup, unfortunately things happen in computing.

Well the disable/uninstall and restart combo failed lol , I think I'll try the repair install soon , I mean it's not something that has me not sleeping at night , but it's there , and knowing there's a problem you can't fix kills me.

Like I said , I'm the only one in my family that can recognize this issue , because to them , it's the normal resolution , but I feel disgusted when I see that "Generic non-pnp Monitor" staring back at me like it's giving me the finger.

Thanks

Drivers are available from this site. You might try that as well.

So what's wrong with the drivers from here???? - iiyama

I just brought up that page and put this in the search box... E2208HDS. It brought up 3 different models with that basic model number with drivers for Window 7

Though the instructions for my HP monitor say no driver neccessary, I installed them anyway, and instead of generic PNP, it says HP w2207h.

You should give them a try if you haven't.

Aw... LiquidSnak beat me to it. Darn it

I actually did go to the manufacturer's site and downloaded the drivers , but when I tried to install them , it told me the generic non-pnp was up to date and blocked me right there and then.

It doesn't know the drivers are for the connected monitor cause it can't even recognize it.

If you can connect both monitors, can you uninstall the drivers for the generic non-pnp and install the proper ones?

I tried uninstalling the non-pnp but then it just runs on my Graphic card , if that's what you mean.

Did you try installing the drivers from the website after the uninstall?

That's the problem , I can't run the drivers like normal applications , they don't come with autoplay feature or installation wizard.

What I did was try and go through the device manager , found the non-pnp and found the driver from there.

Told me it's fully upgraded and closed.
