If I'm reading it right, it requires the Ultra version to play BD.

The best 3D video, Blu-ray player & DVD player software

Since it doesn't include info about version 8 Ultra, I don't know if it is supposed to or not?
I just check the install disk I got with a new LG BH10 and it loads PowerDVD 9.

I recently got and installed a Liteon iBHS-112 BD writer. It was bundled with Cyberlink Blu-ray Disc Suite with Power DVD 9 and plays BDs. Upgrade to Power DVD 10 ultra 3D will cost $51 after a 15% discount.

Unfortunately, my BD player is OEM, thus no software. Had I given it more thought, I would have bought a retail drive instead.

I finally got PowerDVD 8 to work for BDs, by installing an update. The Advisor still shows the same failed items as before, but since it did play the only Blu Ray movie DVD that I have, I'm wondering just how worthwhile upgrading to PowerDVD Ultra Mark II would be. Even with the upgrade discount, it would cost ~ $80 to do so, and unless there is a compelling reason to do so, I will save my money.

    Good choice.
