    New Tv Tuner Card

Hi everyone. I need a new tv tuner card that can record two tv shows while watching another. Is there a such a card on the market. I have an Inspiron 560 with Windows 7 Home Premium as the operating system. I had the Hauppauge WinTv HVR 1250, but it died. It would be appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction for buying a card. Thank you. deanie44

I haven't bought a TV card in quite sometime, so I can't really make a recommendation, but a good site for this kind of info is:

Unless things have changed very recently there are no true "dual tuner" cards. Cards that are called dual-tuner have one analog tuner and one digital tuner. Little use as a dual-tuner as you and I would think of it with a standard Cable TV contract or similar service.

So you need to purchase one Tuner Card for each separate simultaneous recording or viewing. If you want to record two shows at the same time you need 2 tuner cards. You can watch what one of the cards is recording, but to watch a third show while the other two cards are recording you will need a 3rd card.

I believe Hauppauge makes the best tuners for PC. Crappy software. But great tuners!
