I would not recommend this laptop as according to HP's support site for this laptop, only up to Windows XP drivers are available for it. Sometimes, you can get XP Drivers to run in Windows 7 but it's not a sure thing and you may end up having compatibility issues with it and Windows 7.

    Windows 7 Ent. SP1 DA 64-Bit

If you DO have a HP nw8000 it DOES run better with Windows 7 than Windows XP.

I've upgraded sevral of our rather old machines to Windows 7 and it was a good call. Untill now it seems. This model is running Windows 7 Ent. SP1 32-Bit. It does not run 64-bit OS.

Up untill this point I've been able to download all drivers needed from Windows Update, but now I can't find a proper graphics driver. I'm not looking for THE driver, I'm looking for A driver. I used to get it from Windows Update, but not anymore.

As someone said earlier, HP does only support this model up to Windows XP. So if you can find a graphics driver you should go right ahed, if not, think about why you are upgrading to Windows 7.

    --EDIT--
I deleted the graphics driver that I've gotton from Windows Update and ran a new Windows Update. This did get me a graphics driver that was durable. Could be better, but it was durable. I suppose there was some sort of mixup during the original installation.

The resolution is fine (up something like 1900*1024 or so). The response time could be better, but it is not like you get 100 copies of the same window when you drag it over the screen. But dont try to run games like CS or other games that require frequent screen updates. I suppose older games like D2 and other RGP games such as Warcraft 1+2+3, age of empires, Lord of the Realm 1+2, Heroes of Might and Magic and others in that genre will do just fine.

Though this computer will never again be a fast computer, Windows 7 on this machine DOES extend the life of it
    --EDIT--
