Either the Corsair or OCZ should be more than enough, and either will be better than the no-name one you had before. To get a rough idea how much your system does need go here,

    eXtreme Power Supply Calculator

and fill in everything you have to see approximately how big a PSU you need.

Thanks stormy mate. Very nice site. Bookmarked that for future usage. I think im going to go with the OCZ as it has 2x PCI-E incase i ever want to upgrade to a second gpu. I just hope the cable length isnt a problem with the size of my case.

    Much appreciated. :)

This is the specs on the U.S. version. I'm not sure where to get exact specs for U.K. version though. Close enough for comparison.
    Looks like an excellent choice.

OCZ StealthXStream 2 400W-600W Power Supply OCZ Technology

PS- Cables length should be fine.

Thanks for that Mike mate. I was reading reviews on it lastnight and hopefully it should run my pc with ease. Im just hoping the cheap PSU i had hasnt took any of my components out when it blew up. It was like somebody let a banger firework off in my PC lol.

    Cheers.

Hey guys just a update... On closely inspecting my pc the psu has also blew my motherboard up. The chip has burnt out near the green status LED. So it looks like i might be upgrading to a i7/phenom 2 x6 but im in two minds on wich to get. Also would the new PSU i've just ordered be ok for either of those setups or would i need to get a larger wattage one. I done the PSU calculator on that site and its only showing 300+ watts to run the x6.

This is exactly the reason why low cost power supplies are simply not worth it. Sorry about your loss.

That power supply calculator is really quite good. I'll be honest, most people way overspec their PSU's and go with the mantra of "much better is better". But I'd be much more inclined to go with higher quality at the right power level over lesser quality but far more wattage.

Read up on this value added mobo. It's the one I'm looking into, the more you read the more you'll like and it's a true value mated with a great AMD processor.

You're right there pparks1, i wont be buying "no name" psu's anymore lol i'll make sure of that. Whats worrying me now tho is that my cpu might be screwed i was thinking of selling it to add money for my new build but i cant test it & my graphics card.. wich is less than a year old. Thanks mike mate, i thought it would be but i thought id get a second opinion aswell lol.

    Cheers guys

Graphics card can be tried on the new moboard. If bad then you have to order and wait. Pain waiting.
CPU would have to be tried in a compatible mobo to check.

    Suggestion.
You would have to sell it to someone you know.??? Where you say lets make sure it works install and get paid if it does. Something of that sort.??

Graphics card can be tested in almost any PC with a PCI-e slot. I assume it is a PCI-e 2.0 card.
If you have a buddy pull his and install yours. If he is using ATI/Radeon card it probably won't even need a different driver.

Just suggestions off the top of my head.
